Top seed and two-time reigning Acapulco champion David Ferrer defeated Santiago Giraldo 7-5, 6-4 to record his 14th straight victory at the Abierto Mexicano Telcel on Friday. The Spaniard will aim to become only the second player to lift three consecutive trophies at the ATP World Tour 500 event when he takes on countryman Fernando Verdasco in Sunday's final.
